Optional Flexible School Day
Flexible Learning. Personalized Support. A Path to Graduation.
The Optional Flexible School Day (OFSD) Program at Raines Academy provides eligible high school students with an alternative schedule designed to help them stay on track for graduation while balancing work, family responsibilities, or other life circumstances.
This Texas Education Agency approved program offers flexibility without sacrificing academic support, allowing students to continue earning credits toward a Katy ISD diploma in a setting tailored to their individual needs.
What Does the Flexible Schedule Look Like?
Students enrolled in the OFSD Program attend school for a minimum of four (4) hours each day and follow an individualized schedule developed in partnership with teachers and school administration.
Instruction includes a combination of teacher supported and online course work with continuous progress monitoring to ensure students remain on track toward graduation.
Eligibility Requirements
The Optional Flexible School Day Program is available to eligible high school students who meet TEA and district requirements. Students may qualify if circumstances such as employment, family responsibilities, credit recovery needs, or other approved situations create challenges in attending a traditional school schedule.
Admission is determined through an application and review process.
